Business Reports for SMEs

SMEs often lack the internal resources and expertise needed to conduct studies that support informed investment decisions, leading to a reliance on outsourced services for necessary reports. This Grant Scheme supports SMEs with non-repayable grants to part-finance external consultancy costs for Business Plans or Process and Systems Reviews to improve efficiency or competitiveness.

Scheme Summary
This SME grant scheme provides a lump sum to part-finance a business report procured from external Consultancy Service Providers which are registered with the IB and which are autonomous and unrelated to the Beneficiary Undertaking.
advisory.mt are one of the registered Consultancy Service Providers.
Actions under the Business Reports for SMEs must be completed within 6 months of the Grant Agreement. Justified extension requests may be considered, but all actions must conclude by 30th June 2029.
Eligible Costs
Consultancy services shall be procured to support the SME’s decision-taking process, by providing:
Process and Systems Review aimed at rendering the Undertaking potentially more efficient; or
Business Plan addressing the proposed investment initiatives, aimed at rendering the Undertaking potentially more competitive.

Application Process
The scheme will operate on a demand-driven basis, with the IB issuing periodic open/ rolling calls for applications. Eligible applications meeting the Gateway Criteria will be evaluated and awarded grants on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to budget availability.
